We are on BODS 4.2 and BW 7.4.
Prior to BW 7.4, the BW transaction transfer structures were in 3.x and everything worked well in BODS 4.0.
When we migrated to BW 7.4 and BODS 4.2, then we also migrated the BW transaction transfer structures from 3.x to 7.x. When I trired to re-import this structure under the BW datastore in data services designer, I get the below error message.
Any help will be appreciated.

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this error. My Team has been trying to run the SmartOps job, but it keeps failing. We are using BODS 4.1. Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We are facing a problem which is happening just after migrating SAP DS version 4.0 SP 3 to 4.1 SP3
While testing the jobs just migrated, we noticed that SOME of the Query Transforms where JOINS are implemented, got corrupted or something weird is going on.
It must be said that this error does not show in every JOIN definition. We have made a very extensive and complex development so we didn’t check every JOIN definition made in our repositories but we noticed this issue appears when an IDOC-like structure (NRDM) gets involved in a JOIN :
Case 1:
After migration, the left table disappears from the Left column in the Join pairs panel:
Left table in this case, is a structure contained in a Nested Relational Data Model , called Transform_Art.E1BPE1VARKEY
If we try to “re-assign” this NRDM structure in the Left column, it actually seems like if it was available for selection
, and indeed, it can be selected
As a matter of fact, when doing so, the FROM clause gets automatically completed, placing the correct Join Condition specified in the original query.
However, if we open the Smart Editor, the Transform_Art.E1BPE1VARKEY structure does not shows eligible for selection in the Data Panel
A member of such structure, Transform_Art.E1BPE1VARKEY.MATERIAL, appears mapped on the right panel though.
The weird thing is that, even if we go ahead and save this repository definition, it takes too long to complete the save process. And when we come back to this JOIN definition, it seems like no changes were made.
Case 2: In other cases, the whole JOIN spec disappears at all and only the FROM clause remains with information. If we try to re assign the Left and Right operators, and then try to save this change, the change gets not reflected.
If we choose to Validate the object, no Warning nor Error Messages come up.
However, when we run the Job, it seems like it is taking too long to complete (we think of a Cartesian Product occurring or so)
In the document Upgrade Guide SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 4.1 Support Package 1 (14.1.1.0) we noticed there is a list of things happening during the upgrade process
6.3.9 Joins in the Query transform
Data Services now supports ANSI/SQL92 joins in the Query transform. In the Query editor, the OUTER JOIN tab has been removed and the functionality in the FROM tab has been extended to enable you to specify all join types in one location and to more accurately define restrictions. Additionally, join rank and cache can now be set directly in the FROM tab of the Query editor.
During upgrade
During upgrade, the following actions occur:
• The Query transform ATL and XML are automatically upgraded during the repository upgrade.
• Inner join queries are not affected. Inner joins previously specified in the WHERE clause will remain the same.
• Left outer joins are moved from the OUTER JOIN tab to the FROM tab.
However, we are not using LEFT Joins

We recently upgraded to data services 4.2, sp1, patch 4. We have an enterprise ID set up that is used for web services access. When I try to log in with this ID I am seeing the following error but it logs me in anyway when I select ok. We are not seeing this issue in our non-upgraded (4.0) environment and the user is set up the same way. I have even added this user to the central repository. This seems to be preventing our web service jobs from executing. Has anyone seen this before?
I have several other enterprise ids that are in use that do not seem to be an issue.

We are going to extract the data from the xbrl files. Client using one excel template to generate the xbrl files. While generating from the excel sheet it is generating 1 xsd file and multiple xml files.
XSD file having multiple name spaces by referencing the multiple xsd files from resource library.
If we create the xsd file format with generated xsd file in the SAP Data Services, under the name space section it is giving the multiple name spaces available in the xsd.
If we select any name space, it will list out all the elements in the namespace and we have to choose the root element based on our input xml file.
If we come to xml file, it has elements of multiple name spaces
The data xml file having xbrl root element. But while generating the xbrl file data elements may scatter to different schemas which are referenced by main xsd.
I can choose only one namespace at a time from the data services xsd format. It is listing only elements from that schema but it not showing the elements from the referenced schemas.
Problem:
Since xml file has only one root element, if we choose different name space from xsd that root element won’t be available. If we choose the name space which contains root element, remaining elements which contains data are not available as those are coming from different schema.
Example:
Xml file has root element “xbrl” that is coming from main xsd file http://www.xbrl.org/2003/xbrl-instance-2003-12-31.xsd with name space of http://www.xbrl.org/2003/instance . Actual my data elements are TypeOfIndustry, DocumentCurrentPeriodEndDate etc. from the schema "sca-rep/sca-rep_2011-03-31.xsd” with name space of http://www.xbrl.org/ae/sca/2011-03-31/sca-rep . When I am selecting the http://www.xbrl.org/ae/sca/2011-03-31/sca-rep name space in the SAP Data Services xsd schema it is not importing elements from the referenced schemas . So I am not getting root element and SAP Data Services throwing the error as root element is not available in the selected name space(schema) and could not import the elements from the reference schemas .
Is data services supports xsd with reference schema to import elements from reference schema to main schema?

I am trying to remove the trailing commas at the end but not remove the commas in between the string.
Eg

Is there a function I can use to remove the commas at the right like rtrim_blank_ext used to trim blanks from right?

We recently upgraded to data services 4.2, sp1, patch 5. As part of the upgrade we are trying to lock the users out of the designer in our non-development environments (which we have done) while still giving them access to create job schedules via the data services management console.
I have a test user set up but am receiving the following error and am trying to figure out if this is a defect or if I am missing a step in security setup:
Here is how I have set up security for this user and groups to which it belongs via the CMC.
User TESTUSER1 is included in the Data Services Designer Users group
The Data Services Designer user group was added to the group Data Services Operator Users via CMC > Users and Groups > Data Services
Operator Users.
User Security on Data Services Operator Users shows that the Data Services Designer Users has Full Control.
Going to Data Services > DWQDS_JOBS > User Security shows that Data Services Operator Users also has Full Control.
I have two source tables and two target tables in a BODS Dataflow. I use a join on the source tables and insert into one Target table and update another Target table.
By default, will BODS stop updating one target table (and roll back previous transactions) when there is an issue inserting data into the other target table and viceversa?

I am trying to process Excel files in Data Services, however I'd like to put some data quality checks in place (i.e. making sure fields that are supposed to be all numbers don't have letters). I've been using the is_valid_int functions in WHERE fields in the queries inside my DataFlows to achieve these data validation checks. It has been working, however, I don't simply want to skip these records, and load only correct ones, I'd prefer if the file stopped getting processed and the whole Job stopped. Is there some way inside of a DataFlow to throw an error if the is_valid_int(Field,'####') = 0?

Hi Experts,
Our team is using Desginer through VM. Issue is that some developers in team is getting notification error while login to desginer while others are not. All of us are using same terminal server to connect in.We have tried changing the port in Options(Unchecked the job server options and provided 3500-3600). But with same settings it works for some but not others!!!.
As we have notification error ,when we try to execute job it is showng 'Job server selected is not working'.

SNMP agent was enabled in job server. Since it is enabled, we cannot access windows SNMP agent. Windows SNMP and DS SNMP is using the same ports 161. We have an application which shows all the statistics of all the servers, but for DS server it not showing all the statistics.
So we are planning to disable the SNMP agent in job server. Is there any implications if i disable the SNMP agent?
