Match Criteria

Hi Experts,

I have been using the match wizard and am totally confused. I have created a simple match using three fields (last name, first name and middle name). I have sorted the input using the field SOURCE.

There are two values for SOURCE. My input table has a values of NEW and OLD. One record has NEW and seven others have OLD. The NEW record finds a match for records 5, 6, and 7 all of which have similar values for all three names. However the 8th record is a perfect match and yet fails to be identified as a match.

I can't understand why this is happening.

Also I have set each field to contribute to a weighted score. None the less my three partial matches all get a score of 100. Again I can't understand why they don't get lower scores.

The result set is shown below.
