Insights on persistent cache table

Hi,

Please share your ideas on the below BODS requirement.

We are using two jobs in Business objects data services 4.1 – a batch job and a real time job.

·         Batch job ‘BJ_ABC’ – it extracts data from Xml source files and loads  to a target (database)table ’PQR’ (PQR table holds 10million records).

·         Real time job ‘RJ_ABC’ -  it extracts data from Xml source file and performs a lookup operation (using few fields) on the target table ‘PQR’  and send the respective lookup output as Xml message.

Could you please suggest whether we can use Persistent cache table or any memory table in the batch job (instead of database table ‘PQR’) for better lookup performance, is it a best practice to use memory tables as part of the above requirement in the batch job.

Also please share your insights on persistent cache tables.

Please share any other alternatives for better performance.

Regards

Surya
