This is regarding a data migration project in which client is upgrading from 4.6c to 6.0 ECC environment. We need to migrate master data through BODS. We might be using iDocs for the same but not sure on compatibility level.
I am a newbie to migration using iDocs and exploring the information on this upgrade project.
Expectation from solution :
1. Kindly do not post just architectural differences (BASIS level).
2. Kindly do not post just theoretical information like "There will be changes in some of the idocs".
3. Kindly do NOT share SMP links as I don't have access to service marketplace. Rather kindly mail the related stuff to sksaxena @ live.com
4. I want iDoc level difference information like whether there'll be any change in message types, field names, control record structure etc.
For example, we have master data in customer, vendor, material tables in R/3 4.6c . Now we need to migrate this data to ECC 6.0 environment using BODS. So, I want to know what exact field changes, message type changes etc. are present or needs to be taken care of, while doing such migration. What are the new features available in ECC 6.0 environment in terms of iDoc body/structure etc.
I hope my question is clear and really look forward for some detailed information on same. I encourage everyone, whosoever is reading this post to share their part of information as I want to acquaint myself extensively with this ASAP.
