Upgrading data services from 4.1 to 4.2 and Moving Repository Databases from SQL Server 2008 to 2014?

Hi All,

Presently we are using DS 4.1 on SQL server 2008 database and we have both BI(4.1) and IPS platforms in my landscape.

Now my company want to move from SQL server 2008 to SQL server 2014 database. Below are my doubts

1) Is the DS 4.1 compatible with SQL server 2014? Is it good practice to upgrade from DS 4.1 SQL 2008 to DS 4.1 SQL 2014 database? If possible what are the steps to follow.? My next project is starting in 2 weeks can we make this upgrade by then?

2) If we upgrade from DS 4.1 to DS 4.2 do we need to upgrade both BI and IPS platforms or any one is fine? or we don't need to update any thing?

Will be very helpful if you provide answer earliest.
