We are planning to set up RFC transport method in BODS 4.2, and since this is the first time we are attempting it in our organization, we wanted to check a few things:
- Will the RFC Transport method work with any version of SAP Source (ECC or BW) system?
- Will it work with 'Execute Preloaded' in Prod?
- What is 'RFC destination of name SAPDS as Connection Type T'? Is this the same thing that is set up when we established an RFC connection between SAP and BODS? Or is this additional to what has already been set up?
The only material we found online is the wiki page (RFC transport method - Enterprise Information Management - SCN Wiki) which says there are no disadvantages and seems too good to be true
