File Format - Setting Column delimiter using a variable

Hi,

I have a requirement where i want to set the column delimiter of a delimited flat file format using a variable.

At Design time, file format editor lets me give a variable there instead of regular comma/semicolon from dropdown, but it does not recognize it during run time.

Please let me know if anyone has accomplished a similar requirement.
