Target File sent to a system on another network, with a success response (Handshake)

I have a customer that wants a CSV file sent to their third party partner company.

Landscape is:

Company A (BODS server and source data)

Company B (Target System, FTP Folder location) 3rd party.

Company B wants this file sent to their folder.

Company A wants BODS to handle the entire process, from extraction to successful file transfer onto Company B's system.

Company A wants BODS to be able to email a key user list, on the success/failure status of the entire process. Including the final handshake of the file arriving on Company B's system successfully.

The aspect that I need help with is the final step. Writing that file to a system outside of the BODS server's network, and getting a success response.

What are my options here?

Can I use the native BODS script to simply write that file to the target location on Company B's system?

What would be the requirements and prerequisites for this to happen successfully.

               User Rights? VPN? ETC.......

The customer has mentioned an FTP Client tool of some kind. How would this factor into it, if at all.

Thanks in advance for your time.
