How to trigger a Batch File?

Hi

I am using Management Console to Schedule the particular batch job. Since i am using Windows, I am using the (*.bat file) for trigerring BODS JOBS(batch). I have come across few doubts in this while running the file.

1. Do the batch files will be placed in the default path where the Job server resides??? or Whether it can be executed by placing the respective files in the any folders of the local system?

2. What does this batch file actually holds?? Is this an interface to run the script?
