We are currently on Data Services version 4.0 in a four tier environment (dev, staging, QA, Prod). We are looking to begin upgrading to version 4.2.
Question - If we migrate our development environment to version 4.2 would we still be able to migrate jobs, workflows, dataflows, etc to our subsequent environments prior to upgrading or would going 4.2 to 4.0 cause issues. I am guessing it would.
Obviously I would expect if we used new 4.2 functionality this would cause problems but what if we used none of the new features?
For any who have upgraded to 4.2 a couple of questions.
- Can we go 4.0 to 4.2 or must we upgrade to 4.1 first?
- What are some standard pitfalls that folks have run into with the upgrade?
