We extract data from our SAP systems using preloaded ABAP programs that are generated in DEV and then transported through to production.
In the SAP Applications Datastore there is a new Load Balancing feature available in 4.2 (may have also been in 4.1). We would like to make use of this feature to control which servers our SAP background data extracts are running on.
One of the fields in the Load Balancing option is Server Group - I can set this to anything I like (Mickey Mouse if I want) and it has no impact on the running of jobs in background mode on the SAP side. I can see the jobs in SM37 and it assigns execution servers randomly unless I specify exactly the server I want in the Target Host setting in the datastore.
I can see nothing in the function module /SAPDS/JOB_RUN which reads any of these parameters. Has anyone used these settings yet?
